Furniture Moving Pads are a vital part of the cargo hauling industry. They are sometimes called moving blankets, moving pads, warehouse pads, van pads, or quilted moving pads. Moving Blankets come in various sizes but the most common is 72'' x 80'' which is what we stock. Moving Pads also come in various weights and fabrics which are the primary determining factors as to which moving blanket you may need.
The first decision you need to make when ordering a blanket is deciding just how heavy of a blanket you need to do the job required. Moving Pads are weighed by the dozen and range from 43 lbs. to 95 lbs. for a bundle of 12. The lower end of the spectrum would be more for short-term jobs or if you need a lightweight blanket for some protection. The upper end of the spectrum would be for times when maximum protection is needed or you may need the moving pads for several reuses.
The next factor in your decision should be the fabric that the moving blanket is constructed of. Most economy moving blankets are made of a tough non-woven fabric. The next step up would be a woven blanket such as the middle to high range blankets. Woven moving pads are made of the tougher woven material so they can endure more wear and tear than the economy moving pads. Woven material can be made of polyester, a cotton/poly mix or 100% cotton.
The last factor would be to consider the make-up of the binding of the particular moving pad in consideration. Binding is the material sewn around the edges of the furniture moving pad to hold everything together. It is usually made of woven or non-woven material.
